Linc-Cymru are offering the opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Chef based at Llys Enfys ExtraCare Scheme in Cardiff. Just 20 minutes from the heart of the city and excellent transport links nearby, Llys Enfys is in a great location.
The role is working in a busy kitchen, which feeds our tenants every meal time. The shifts are normally between 8:00am - 2:30pm or 10:00am - 2:30pm, so it could be perfect for someone who is not able to work longer or evening shifts.
The Extracare schemes provide a safe and homely place for older and vulnerable people to live as independently as possible. You will be the smiling face they see when they visit the dining room for a delicious and nutritious meal - and a good chat doesn't go amiss either! Meal times are important to our tenants, it's a time to relax and enjoy the company of other tenants, visitors and Linc Staff alike - after all, the fondest memories are made gathered around the table. Ensuring the meals they receive are well presented, tasty and full of goodness is key - we like to keep our tenants happy, after all; good food means good mood!
With a dedicated Learning & Development team, we will ensure you have all the knowledge that you need to succeed and excel in this role.
You will have the opportunity to carry out a variety of kitchen duties from planning menus within a set budget to deputising in the Chef Managers absence - no two days will be the same.
Leading by example is key, so if you work in a 'clean as you go' way, this role will be perfect for you! Keeping the kitchen, dining room and equipment sparkly clean is important, so you'll need to ensure that the team of Food Service Assistants keep on top of daily tasks to maintain excellent quality food and customer service.
