Benefits
Alongside your salary of £43,657, Charity Commission contributes £11,787 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. This is your chance to make a contribution that really matters and to make an impact in an organisation where your voice will be heard and your hard work noticed. We operate a flexible hybrid working policy where office attendance is combined with homeworking days dependent on role and corporate requirements.
We offer access to the highly competitive Civil Service Pension Scheme (employer contributions of 27.1%), far more than in the private sector, and a flexible, family-friendly environment. Additionally, you can look forward to other great benefits via our ‘Perkbox’ and ‘Edenred’ schemes. These include everything from an interest-free season ticket loan and bicycle loan (after two months) to discounts on gym membership, cinema tickets and restaurants. A minimum of 25 days of paid annual leave, increasing by one day per year up to a maximum of 30 days per year.
We are the regulator of charities in England and Wales and maintain the charity register. We register and regulate charities in England and Wales, to ensure that the public can support charities with confidence. We are an independent, non-ministerial government department accountable to Parliament.
As registrar, we are responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date register of charities. This includes deciding whether organisations are charitable and should be registered. We also remove charities that are not considered to be charitable, no longer exist or do not operate. We work across 4 sites in Liverpool, London, Newport and Taunton. Our Newport office operates bilingually in Welsh and English. We employ approximately 350 people.
