1. The Senedd (Welsh Parliament) is looking to appoint a Non-Executive Member to the Board, to commence in March 2027.
2. The Auditor General is a statutory office holder responsible for a range of audit functions including the audit of the accounts of most public bodies in Wales.
3. The Wales Audit Office (WAO) Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the WAO and ensuring the functions of the organisation are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

Non-Executive Member of the Wales Audit Office Non-Executive Member

£12,500 per annum, non-pensionable, 2-3 days per month.

The Wales Audit Office (WAO) Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the WAO and ensuring the functions of the organisation are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

The organisation employs around 300 staff, and the Auditor General is its Chief Executive and Accounting Officer. The Auditor General is a statutory office holder responsible for a range of audit functions including the audit of the accounts of most public bodies in Wales.

The Senedd (Welsh Parliament) is looking to appoint a Non-Executive Member to the Board, to commence in March 2027 .

In total, the WAO Board comprises nine members, five of whom are non-executives (including the Chair), plus the Auditor General for Wales and three employees of the WAO. The Non-Executive Members are appointed by the Welsh Parliament (‘the Senedd’). One employee member is nominated by the Auditor General and the other two are appointed by the Non-Executive Members following a ballot of WAO staff.

Mae Bwrdd Swyddfa Archwilio Cymru yn gyfrifol am bennu cyfeiriad strategol Swyddfa Archwilio Cymru a sicrhau bod swyddogaethau’r sefydliad yn cael eu cyflawni mewn modd effeithlon a chost-effeithiol.

Mae’r sefydliad yn cyflogi tua 300 o staff, a’r Archwilydd Cyffredinol yw ei Brif Weithredwr a’i Swyddog Cyfrifyddu. Mae’r Archwilydd Cyffredinol yn ddeiliad swydd statudol sy’n gyfrifol am amrywiaeth o swyddogaethau archwilio, gan gynnwys archwilio cyfrifon y rhan fwyaf o gyrff cyhoeddus yng Nghymru.

Yn gyfan gwbl, mae Bwrdd Swyddfa Archwilio Cymru yn cynnwys naw aelod, pump ohonynt yn aelodau anweithredol (gan gynnwys y Cadeirydd), ynghyd ag Archwilydd Cyffredinol Cymru a thri aelod sy'n gyflogeion Swyddfa Archwilio Cymru. Penodir yr Aelodau Anweithredol gan Senedd Cymru. Caiff un aelod o staff ei enwebu gan yr Archwilydd Cyffredinol, a chaiff y ddau arall eu penodi gan yr Aelodau Anweithredol yn dilyn balot o staff Swyddfa Archwilio Cymru.
