£33,945 - £38,223 per annum
Grade 8 - £33,945 for 37 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £29,817.43 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, £30,468.47 pro rata per annum after 5 year's service.
Pembrokeshire County Council have an exciting opportunity to join the Education Welfare Service, working as an Elective Home Education Advisor for our Electively Home Educated community, working on a term-time only basis.
The post holder will join a well-regarded and high performing Education Welfare team alongside our already established EHE Advisor, ensuring home educated children are receiving a high-quality education which allows them to reach their potential.
As an EHE Advisory Teacher you would be responsible for providing advice and guidance to parents/carers wishing to, or who are currently, electively home educating their children in Pembrokeshire. This role requires strong relationships to be built with families to ensure the education being provided is suitable and effective.
We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed to supporting positive, solution focused outcomes for children and young people.
You would be expected to arrange and conduct educational assessment visits to families, to provide reports on assessments, educational progress and concerns for each child. The role also involves liaising with professionals to ensure electively home educated children are adequately safeguarded, learning and enjoying their EHE.
To carry out the role you will need high levels of communication and organisational skills as you will need to prioritise and work independently; confidence to make and stand by your decisions is key. You will also need to be open minded and have a creative understanding of educational provision.
You will have qualified teacher status in addition to experience of identifying and developing effective educational resources.
You will need emotional resilience for this role, and be committed to Pembrokeshire County Council’s values.
We are offering agile working arrangements with a base in County Hall, Haverfordwest.
Pembrokeshire County Council is the local authority for the county of Pembrokeshire, one of the principal areas of Wales.

Different groupings have formed among the independent councillors at different times, sometimes forming administrations with councillors from political parties. Between 1996 and 2017 the leader of the council came from the "Independent Political Group" (later called the "Independent Plus Political Group"). That group's numbers were reduced from 33 to 13 at the May 2017 election. Its leader Jamie Adams blamed the poor performance at that election on the IPPG's close connections to the council's discredited former chief executive.
