We are looking for a proactive, technically skilled Senior Electrician to lead our in-house electrical repairs team. The ideal candidate will have proven knowledge of current electrical regulations, including BS7671, as well as health & safety regulations. The role involves overseeing electrical works of both our in-house electrical repairs team and external contractors, supporting the team, carrying out installations, maintenance, fault finding, ensuring all work is completed safely and professionally. We're looking for someone reliable, organised, confident, with good communication skills and the ability to lead by example.
What you’ll do…

You will lead a team of electricians, overseeing planned and responsive maintenance, repairs, and installation works across our homes and properties. You will ensure that all electrical work is carried out in line with current legislation, regulations, and organisational standards. Acting as the technical lead and subject matter expert, you will provide guidance on complex electrical issues, support effective resource management, and help drive our ambition to deliver safe, warm, and sustainable.
What you'll bring to the role...
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in electrical installation Ability to manage and analyse complex datasets and provide meaningful reports.
- City and Guilds Inspection and Testing (e.g., 2391 or equivalent) and BS 7671 18th Edition qualification.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance and repairs, preferably within the social housing sector
- Understanding of the Welsh Housing Quality Standard and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System.
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Ability to prioritise and programme work to meet targets and deadlines.
- An effective team player who can respond quickly to changing demands and conditions.
- Strong understanding of H&S requirements, including conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance
- Full UK driving licence
