Job Description

Scheme Chef - £17,053 per annum

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Chef to join our team at Red Sea House. This role is vital in supporting residents’ health and wellbeing by providing nutritious, culturally appropriate meals in a safe and welcoming environment.

What you’ll do…

At Red Sea House, you will plan, prepare, and deliver a varied, nutritious menu that reflects our residents’ cultural backgrounds and meets their individual dietary needs. You’ll take responsibility for ordering and managing food supplies, ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently and cost effectively. Maintaining exceptional standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety across all kitchen and storage areas will be central to your role. You’ll also contribute to the wellbeing of our residents through positive daily interactions and by helping to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.

What you'll bring to the role...

  • Develop menus that reflect the cultural and dietary needs of residents, including consideration for specific community languages (e.g., Somali)
  • Prepare and serve meals to a high standard, ensuring nutritional requirements and individual preferences are met
  • Maintain a clean, hygienic environment for residents, service users, visitors, and colleagues
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including up-to-date compliance with food safety legislation and Taff’s policies
  • Manage kitchen assistants and volunteers, providing guidance and support as required
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, residents, and external suppliers to deliver excellent service
  • Identify and report any safeguarding concerns, following Taff’s safeguarding procedures.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery and employment
