Multi-Trade Carpenter - £33,575 per annum

We are looking to recruit an experienced multi‑trade carpenter to join the Repairs Team at Taff Housing. The role includes responsive repair work, working in void properties, and contributing to planned programmes. What you’ll do…
Taff is committed to providing good quality, affordable and safe homes and this role is key to supporting this. In this role, you’ll carry out a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks in our customer’s homes and across Taff properties, always working in line with our service standards and safety procedures. You’ll use mobile devices to record your work, keep van stock well managed, and drive a company vehicle safely. Working independently is a key part of the role, as is using tools and equipment responsibly. You’ll also support planned and void property works, take care of your own health and safety, and help us promote a positive, inclusive environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
What you'll bring to the role...
- Served an apprenticeship in carpentry or an equivalent NVQ level 3 in carpentry
- Experience of working as a carpenter in the building trade, either as a carpenter or as a multi-skilled Carpenter
- Basic plumbing skills
- Basic plastering skills
- Ability to erect fencing and carry out fencing repairs
- Ability to install flooring (vinyl & polysafe)
- Ability to gain access to properties and carry out lock changes
- Ability to carry out UPVC window and composite door repairs
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Ability to record detailed and accurate repairs information relating to repair inspections and completed repair jobs
- Experience in using a wide range of portable tools, small plant, ladders, tower scaffolds, and equipment required to carry out job duties effectively and safely
