Job Description

Bangor University is looking for an enthusiastic and talented educator to play a leading role in teaching Welsh courses for the education workforce in the northern counties.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of tutors responsible for developing and teaching the sabbatical courses for teachers and classroom assistants in the north, including the 'Welsh in a Year' course. The aim of these courses, that are funded by the Welsh Government, is to develop skills and increase the confidence of the education workforce to teach Welsh successfully in our schools.

The successful candidate will have a degree, a teaching qualification and experience of teaching Welsh courses at a range of levels, as well as experience of planning effective provision.

The post is based at Canolfan Bedwyr (the University’s Centre for Welsh Language Services, Technology and Research). Through Bangor University's Dynamic Working framework, there will also be an opportunity to spend some time working remotely, to support work-life balance.

Applications will also be considered to fulfil this role on a part-time or job-sharing basis.

The successful candidate will be expected to start in the post in June 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is a permanent role.
