Job Description

Job Purpose

The Area of Construction is continuing to grow and is seeking to recruit a Lecturer with a specialism of carpentry/brickwork to join our construction team. The courses will be delivered through both practical sessions with excellent workshop facilities and theory lessons to underpin the knowledge learnt in the practical sessions.  Learners will be assessed via practical assignments, written assignments and multiple choice unit end tests. This role is required to deliver high quality teaching and learning across a range of programmes, creating a positive environment to enable all learners to reach their full potential in terms of academic, social and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and teach across levels, ranging from Level 1 to Level 3.
  • Ensure teaching and learning strategies and teaching materials areplanned and meet the varied needs of all learners.
  • Assess and monitor learner progress, including the setting of targets,maintaining records or work and achievements.
  • Ensure the learning environment is inspiring and maintain industry linksto enhance the learner experience.

About you:

  • Minimum level 3 qualification in relevant area
  • Teaching/Training qualification or be prepared to work towards
  • Passion for the industry and teaching and learning.
