1. Tŷ Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care, respite and dedicated support to children and young people with life-shortening conditions across Wales.
2. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Bank as a registered nurse to support our highly experienced care team.
3. As a Bank Registered Nurse your responsibility will be to deliver safe, clinical nursing care to children resident in the hospice, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.

Location: Hospice - Sully

Salary: £15.53 to £18.90 (paid hourly) dependent on experience.

Contract type: Zero hours

Contract hours: Full time, Part time

Weekly hours: Up to 37.5 hours

Tŷ Hafan is a beautiful children’s hospice located on the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan coastline. Covering the South, East, and West of Wales Tŷ Hafan offers a beautiful, newly refurbished working environment set in idyllic grounds a short distance from the metropolitan area of Cardiff.  

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Bank as a registered nurse to support our highly experienced care team. We are looking for dedicated nurses with a passion for providing holistic family centred care to a caseload of very special and inspiring children, young people, and their families. As a Tŷ Hafan nurse you will be supported in maintaining and developing your clinical skills to a high standard, in addition to working closely with a wider team of professionals to provide truly intuitive and creative care that goes beyond just clinical tasks. Support is provided to children and their families at our hospice in Sully, in community settings, and in the family home. At Tŷ Hafan our team is very supportive and inclusive, we value individual differences, and understand experience can come from many avenues, therefore it is not essential to have previous experience working in a palliative care environment. Palliative care is defined as the total care of individuals from diagnosis of a life-shortening condition, beyond transition into adult services, or in providing extensive bereavement support. It is important to remember that paediatric palliative care is so much more than just end of life care, Tŷ Hafan holds enhancing quality of life at its very core.   

About the role

As a Bank Registered Nurse your responsibility will be to deliver safe, clinical nursing care to children resident in the hospice, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. We are looking for Registered Nurses with the skills to assess, plan and deliver individualised nursing care, providing evidence-based clinical intervention in line with current guidelines, regulations and policies. Our skilled team provide specialist care for children and young people with a wide range of complex conditions therefore, at Tŷ Hafan your work will be extremely varied, and deeply fulfilling.
