Online PSHE, Resilience and Wellbeing Teacher (KS3 and KS4)

1. We are seeking qualified, passionate, and dedicated Online PSHE, Resilience and Wellbeing Teachers to match the growing demand across our live pastoral and academic delivery.
2. As an Online PSHE, Resilience and Wellbeing Teacher at EDClass, you will deliver structured, impactful sessions across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 following the statutory DfE guidance.
3. All teachers receive comprehensive, ongoing safeguarding training to ensure full compliance within our digital learning spaces.

Online PSHE, Resilience and Wellbeing Teacher (KS3 and KS4)

Salary: £30 per hour

Hours: Flexible, 12–25 hours per week (Term-time only, Monday–Friday between 9:00am and 4:00pm, focused on core peak delivery hours)

Location: Remote / Work from Home — Must be resident and based in the UK with QTS gained in the UK.

Other PSHE roles also available: Full-time Online PSHE Teachers with a Salary £39,750 are also available at our head office in Dinnington, Sheffield alongside part time, term-time or flexible arrangements.

Contract: Direct contract with EDClass for Part-time / Hourly (Commitment to the full academic year preferred)

Delivery Model and Platform Structure

Lessons are 1 hour long in live, timetabled sessions structured across our specialised virtual learning environments:

• EDLive: Small-group, highly focused live timetabled lessons (1:1 to 1:5 ratio) centred on structured PSHE modules, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), Health Education, emotional literacy, curriculum objectives, and core personal development.
• EDTeach: Targeted intervention sessions delivered on a 1:1 or up to 1:3 ratio, designed around key focus points to directly diagnose and address specific barriers to learning, self-regulation, resilience-building, and personal wellbeing.
• EDClass Plus: Live, responsive teaching assistance where teachers support students as they work through guided reflection exercises, scenario-based learning tasks, interactive e-learning modules, and structured pathways, including taking students into live breakout rooms for focused, real-time intervention and scaffolding.

The Role

As an Online PSHE, Resilience and Wellbeing Teacher at EDClass, you will deliver structured, impactful sessions across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 following the statutory DfE guidance for Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) and personal development frameworks.

Our platform supports a diverse cohort of learners, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, school refusers, or students facing significant barriers to mainstream education. You will play a vital role in helping young people build emotional resilience, develop essential life skills, understand physical and mental health, navigate online and real-world safety, and build the confidence necessary for successful school reintegration or progression into further education and employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Live Interactive Teaching: Deliver 1-hour timetabled lessons across EDLive, targeted intervention sessions in EDTeach, and responsive breakout room coaching in EDClass Plus.
• Curriculum and Personal Development Delivery: Deliver age-appropriate, objective, and engaging lessons across statutory KS3 and KS4 RSHE/PSHE themes, including mental health, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, online safety, substance awareness, British values, citizenship, and career pathways.
• Resilience and Wellbeing Coaching: Equip pupils with practical self-care, self-regulation, mindfulness, and coping strategies to manage anxiety, build social confidence, and overcome educational barriers.
• Digital Learning and Content: Assist learners as they navigate interactive e-learning modules, personal reflection tasks, and scenario-based activities; plan and record engaging pastoral and wellbeing video tutorials for our digital library.
  

  Feedback and Progress Tracking: Provide supportive, constructive feedback (both verbally and written) to encourage positive engagement, personal reflection, and growth.

• Inclusive Pedagogy: Apply calm, encouraging, and highly empathetic approaches to engage vulnerable, disaffected, or anxious learners in discussions around sensitive topics.
• Safeguarding and Multi-Agency Reporting: Uphold the highest safeguarding standards at all times, monitoring pupil wellbeing and disclosing concerns immediately in accordance with our strict safeguarding protocols, while liaising effectively with partner schools.
• Additional Opportunities: Additional paid hours may be available for pastoral mentoring, welfare check-ins, parental meetings, and detailed progress reporting.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

• Location: Must be currently resident and based in the UK with the right to work in the UK.
• Qualifications: Must hold a recognised UK teaching qualification (Qualified Teacher Status / QTS, or secondary PGCE).
• Teaching Experience: Minimum of 3 years of successful secondary classroom or alternative provision teaching experience with proven involvement in PSHE, RSHE, or pastoral education.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Deep understanding of statutory DfE RSHE guidance, the national PSHE Association programme of study for KS3/KS4, and contemporary adolescent mental health/wellbeing practices.
• Digital Literacy: Confident ICT skills with the ability to manage virtual classroom features (breakout rooms, chat, audio, digital whiteboards) and maintain safe, respectful online dialogue.
• Inclusive Practice: Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable, disengaged, or SEND/SEMH learners using supportive, patient, and adaptive pastoral strategies.
• Safeguarding Commitment: Uncompromising commitment to child protection, pupil safety, and statutory guidance, with keen awareness of handling sensitive disclosures appropriately.
• Reliability: Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a commitment to maintaining timetable continuity for learners throughout the academic year.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience delivering live online PSHE, wellbeing, or pastoral intervention sessions in small groups or one-to-one.
• Additional training in youth mental health first aid, ELSA, or related emotional wellbeing interventions.
• Understanding of the DfE Online Education Accreditation Scheme standards.

Contract, Induction and Training

You will be employed directly under a formal contract with EDClass, with no third-party tutoring agencies, businesses, or intermediaries involved. All successful candidates are required to complete our compulsory staff induction, onboarding, and training programme, for which you will be fully paid. Additionally, you will be paid for any time spent working on-site at our head office.
