Job Description

Location: Hybrid (Home-based with travel across South Wales)

Hours: 15 hours per week (2 days)

Duration: Up to 12 weeks

Hourly Rate: £12.71

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Project Development Intern to support the delivery of Big Ideas Wales, a programme helping young people develop entrepreneurial skills and explore self-employment opportunities.

About the Role

Working closely with the Project Manager and the Big Ideas Wales team, you will contribute to an exciting research project focused on engaging young people across Wales. This hands-on internship provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in research, stakeholder engagement, marketing and project delivery while helping shape future entrepreneurship support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of a research project focused on young people and entrepreneurship.
  • Engage directly with groups of young people to gather feedback, insights and research information.
  • Travel across South Wales to visit youth centres, sports clubs, community groups and other organisations.
  • Raise awareness of Big Ideas Wales through existing networks and community contacts.
  • Help develop social media ideas and content that resonates with young audiences.
  • Work collaboratively with the Big Ideas Wales team to identify opportunities to improve the programme and increase engagement.

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Confident and engaging communicator.
  • Comfortable speaking to groups of people and building relationships.
  • Positive attitude with a proactive, can-do approach.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a meaningful project.
  • Fluent Welsh speaker with strong written communication skills.
  • Access to a vehicle and a full, clean driving licence.
