Accountant - Manufacturing

Hays Senior Finance are currently recruiting for an Accountant with Manufacturing experience for a 6-month contract based in Swansea.

The position will play a key role in supporting finance operations, ensuring the smooth running of financial processes, reporting and controls.This is an excellent opportunity for finance professionals who enjoy a varied role and are confident working across both transactional finance and management accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Transactional Support

• Support the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and IFRS accounting standards.

Month-End & Reporting

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Support month-end close activities including accruals, prepayments and variance analysis.
• Contribute to budgets, forecasts and ad hoc financial reporting requirements.
• Assist with group reporting and consolidation submissions.

Audit & Compliance

• Provide support and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Help maintain strong financial controls and accurate financial records.

Stakeholder Support

• Respond to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across finance and operational teams.
• Identify and escalate potential financial risks or control issues where appropriate.

What are we looking for?

Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end processes.Experience managing high-volume transactional finance activities.Manufacturing experienceA finance qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.Strong Excel skills and experience working with finance systems.Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
