Production Operative – Packing / Material Handler

We have a rare opportunity to join our Paint Line team as a Production Operative. As Production Operative you’ll enjoy being a critical part of the team and will work flexibly across a variety of production activities.

Position

What does it involve?

As Production Operative you’ll ‘roll your sleeves up and get stuck in’ wherever you’re needed carrying out a variety of different tasks including:

• Check and prepare materials in accordance with the days schedule, reporting any errors or discrepancies.
• Organise and locate paint line WIP material into designated locations dependent on process requirements.
• Perform the necessary quality checks on material being picked for the paint line.
• Packing painted product off the line
• Provide cover on the paint line as and when required, carrying out routine quality checks.
• Responsible for the good housekeeping of your work areas

Requirements

What will you need to know…

As Production Operative you’ll be working on vertical paint line (and there aren’t many of those around) so we’ll make sure you’ll receive all the necessary training to be successful in your role. Experience of working as a Production Operative is a bonus but, as a minimum we’re looking for you to demonstrate your:

• Ability to follow standard operation instructions.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Basic level of IT literacy i.e. able to use email, use web-based system for time and attendance.
• Ability to build, maintain effective working partnerships with colleagues – we’re a team and better when we work together!
• Self‐motivated proactive approach to work that is able to demonstrate initiative

Other information

This role does involves physical movement including lifting, bending, twisting and carrying with loads of up to 20kg as a core part of the role.

Role details

• 40 hours per week on a rotating shift
• Salary – £23,920 to £24,960 depending on experience.
