This post is based within the Capital, Corporate and Treasury Management team of the Accountancy section of Finance. The post is based in the Treasury Team and has responsibilities for managing the Council’s banking, investment and borrowing transactions and reporting performance.
About the job
The candidate will be responsible for high value transactions connected to the Council’s investment and borrowing activities. The candidate will utilise various software systems to support cash flow forecasts, reporting and recording of transactions and undertake reconciliations within the SAP financial system. They will provide management and financial accounting for financial instruments in line with accounting standards. They will develop Treasury Strategies, performance reporting and provide advice and support to meet Council outcomes. They will work with external partners to ensure our activities are undertaken in line with the highest professional standards and within set controls in this sensitive area.
What We Are Looking For From You
The role requires a demonstrable level of performance with accuracy and compliance with procedures and will involve supporting other members of the service and on service improvements and projects. You will be comfortable using a wide variety of software systems and have experience of working in a Treasury Management financial environment to meet customer objectives. You will be comfortable dealing with large volumes of transactions of high monetary value, and with an awareness of economics and financial markets and their impact on entities.
