We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant to join a growing and forward-thinking business in Pwllheli.

The Role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of accurate financial information, maintaining strong controls, and driving continuous improvement across finance processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring general ledger and routine accounting information is produced accurately and on time
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts and KPI reporting packs
- Supporting departmental managers with financial performance against budgets and forecasts
- Taking a leading role in year-end audit processes and statutory accounts preparation
- Administering payroll and ensuring compliance with BIK reporting requirements
- Preparing and submitting non-UK VAT and statistical returns within deadlines
- Managing import/export documentation and VAT reconciliations
- Supporting FOREX and cash management activities
- Playing a key role in an upcoming ERP system upgrade
- Managing and supporting two direct reports across AP and GL functions
- Identifying and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Part-qualified accountant (ideally AAT Level 3) or qualified by experience
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage and support others
- Broad experience across finance functions, including accounts preparation and reconciliations
- Experience posting journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, payroll)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data and produce meaningful reports
- Payroll experience, including knowledge of relevant taxation documentation (e.g. P11D(b), P45)
- Experience working with international trade (desirable)
- Advanced Excel skills, including handling large data sets
