Zellis, the leading provider of AI enabled HR, workforce management and payroll software and services to the UK and Ireland, today announced that Travelodge, one of the UK’s largest hotel chains, has successfully transformed its employee experience by implementing Zellis’ intuitive HR and workforce management platform, delivering significant improvements for its 13,000 colleagues across 580 hotels.
Since launching the mobile-first solution, employees now independently manage rotas, shifts, payroll validations, and personal admin tasks directly from their smartphones. This streamlined approach has significantly enhanced job satisfaction, resulting in a 10% improvement in employee retention year-on-year.
“The system represents a transformation in how we manage, engage with and support our most valuable asset – our people,” commented Dan Curtis, Head of People and Technology, Travelodge. “With 24-hour hotel operations, our employees now have instant, transparent access to crucial work information ranging from shifts, payslips, and more, in one easy-to-use app. This not only makes their lives easier but also empowers them to balance their professional and personal commitments effectively.”
Zellis’ platform replaced cumbersome manual processes, providing managers with powerful workforce analytics, simplified compliance management, and real-time operational insights, freeing them to focus on strategic initiatives.
“At Zellis, our goal is always to simplify and enrich the lives of employees. It’s inspiring to see tangible improvements that Travelodge has made across employee engagement and retention as a direct result of this partnership,” said Steve Elcock, Director AI and HCM, Zellis. “There’s no doubt that Travelodge revolutionised their employee experience with our advanced AI toolset, enabling them to identify trends, optimise people planning processes, and develop more automation into their systems.”
Travelodge’s HR transformation project was completed on time within just 10.5 months and has already recorded over 12 million logins within its first year demonstrating enthusiastic adoption by staff.
