Site Buyer

A leading manufacturer is seeking a Site Buyer with management experience to join their procurement team, offering you the opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving cost reduction, supplier selection, and contract implementation. You will influence sourcing strategies, benchmark site spend, manage a team, and deliver targeted savings while supporting global business objectives. Please note this is a fully on-site role, occasional travel within the UK and abroad may be required.

What You'll Do:

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement within the business unit. Your day-to-day activities will involve:

• Providing an efficient and cost-effective procurement service for the business.
• Acting as the local representative of the group purchasing team, supporting and implementing sourcing categories.
• Managing two purchasing co-ordinators.
• Liaising with suppliers throughout the procurement process and monitoring performance.
• Identifying new suppliers, agree terms, negotiate supply agreements.
• Evaluating contractors thoroughly and manage documentation requirements to ensure compliance with operational standards.
• Undertaking supplier visits, reporting findings to the business and identifying opportunities for improvement.

What You Bring:

Your background should include:

• Substantial experience in procurement or purchasing roles within a manufacturing or similar engineering environment where you have managed teams collaboratively.
• Strong negotiation skills that enable you to secure advantageous terms with suppliers while maintaining positive relationships.
• Work dependably under pressure across multiple projects.
• Exhibit stakeholder management skills alongside change management capabilities.
• Ideally, you will be partly or fully CIPS qualified.
