Job Description

Morson is collaborating with the UK's leading defence manufacturer to recruit a Supplier Quality Professional to join their team at the Glascoed site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical reviews to ensure customer requirements are clearly defined and effectively communicated throughout the supply chain.
  • Evaluate supplier capability and capacity to meet contractual obligations.
  • Support the procurement team by analysing supply chain options, identifying capability gaps, and facilitating the onboarding of new suppliers.
  • Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools and methodologies in supplier-related change projects, including Process Control Planning and PFMEA.
  • Review and assess supplier First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Coach the supply chain on relevant tools and techniques such as APQP to aid supplier development and promote the sharing of best practises.
  • Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives by enhancing throughput and minimising waste.
  • Assist with first, second, and third-party audits of the Procurement Function and Supply Chain as required.
  • Promote and maintain safe working practises in all supplier interactions.
Knowledge
  • At least five years' experience in engineering, production, or quality-related roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO, AS, and AQAP.
  • Understanding of Defence Standards.
  • Expertise in Supply Chain Management.
  • Proficient in APQP principles (essential).
  • Awareness of safety standards and regulations.
Skills
  • Lead Auditor certification (desirable).
  • Practical experience applying APQP tools (essential).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation (essential).
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage workload independently.
  • Experience with improvement and recovery programmes.
Qualifications
  • Lead Auditor certification (desirable).

  • Competence in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation (essential).
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively across functions.
  • Proven ability to manage workload autonomously.
