Machine Setter

The role of Machine Setter will be considered a Senior Operative working closely with the Engineering/Production Manager and assisting in the tool changing and machine setup operations.

Rate of pay - £15.45 p/h (effective 06/04/26)

Hours of work

• 4 on / 4 off, days/nights rotation

Responsibilities

Working in a team of 9 comprising 1 shift manager, 6 engineers and 2 machine setters. Reporting to the shift manager. 

Progression opportunities include Engineering apprenticeship.

• You will work as a team to ensure machine changeovers are completed in a timely manner on days and done to the plan for production start up on nights.
• Assembling processing equipment for production start ups.
• Working closely with the hygiene team on nights to strip and rebuild machinery and equipment for cleaning,
• Assisting engineering in completing machine maintenance.
• Managing the blade stock and blade rotation.
• Being the point of contact for blade issues on shift.
• Escalating Blade issues to the shift management.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 or equivalent desirable, but not essential.
• Trade qualifications or experience in plumbing, plastering, carpentry or industrial environment.
• Shift work (including nights).
• Hand Tools experience desirable.
