About the service
Due to a service area restructure an excellent opportunity has arisen within the new Design, Construction and Maintenance (DCM) Team for a Structural Engineer to undertake a range of structural engineering services across the Council’s non-domestic buildings estate including schools.
The newly established DCM Team is responsible for designing and delivering a wide range of building related projects across the Council’s school and corporate building estates. The Team adopts a multi discipline approach to ensure that the Council’s broad range of policy objectives are fully considered. In this regard, the Council’s sustainability, energy, health and safety, waste, carbon reduction goals along with its social inclusion, community benefits, wellbeing and accessibility objectives are all considered and applied to deliver projects on time, within cost and to the required quality.
About the job
The primary purpose of the is to complete technical feasibility, assessment and structural design services in accordance with relevant design standards, codes of practice, etc in respect of a range of building related projects to a consistently high standard in accordance with the customer’s requirements.
The postholder will also be required to proactively assist with, and lead where required on, the commissioning of professional services and construction work to external organisations.
