We connect, protect and restore

Alongside communities nationwide, we connect people with wild places, campaign to protect those places, and restore and rewild land for the common good.

We repair and rewild

Collaborating with local partners, we work towards landscape-scale restoration of natural processes; the expansion of native woodlands, the nurturing of rare mountain plants, and on footpath repair through some of the country's wildest places.

We protect wild places

Wild places by their nature are fragile and sensitive to inappropriate land use. The Trust campaigns to protect wild places wherever needed and advocates for policy changes that benefit all life - plants, animals and humans.

Are you a talented individual looking to develop your career in a progressive conservation organisation?

The reason the John Muir Trust exists - to conserve, protect and repair wild places for the benefit of everyone - has never been more important.

We need brilliant people to join us and help create a world where wild places play a central role in tackling the climate crisis, addressing biodiversity loss and connecting people and communities to the many benefits of nature.

In return for your skills, energy and can-do attitude, we offer an inclusive work environment in a growing organisation. Our colleagues are passionate, dedicated and collaborative. We offer flexible working arrangements and invest in and develop our people. We have a generous holiday allowance and also offer two ‘wild days’ each year where our team can seek out their own experiences of wild places and connect with our mission.

Applications are welcome from people from all walks of life and including those with diverse backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and experiences. We are looking for people who can help make sure that wild places are for everyone and that together we can stand-up for the freedom of wild places.
