We are recruiting a Commercial Lead Procurement and Collaboration at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours per week – 7.4 hours Monday - Friday

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Procurement and Information Services.

We pay an attractive salary of £48,474 - £51,515 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Caerphilly County Borough Council have a rare opportunity for a Commercial Lead, Procurement & Collaboration. Here the post holder will be responsible for the effective delivery and management of commercial approaches on behalf of CCBC and in collaboration with other public and private sector organisations. Support the Council with taking forward progressive and innovative commercial policy priorities ranging from partnership and collaborative working, decarbonisation, social value, circular economy, and foundational economy. Also to develop, build and maintain key strategic relationships with stakeholders.

A specific focus on development and commercial opportunities, which will underpin the delivery of arrangements for Caerphilly CBC and where applicable work collaboratively across Wales and the UK. Also to develop and lead commercial approaches on behalf of CCBC and collaboratively across Wales and the UK.

Other key areas of the role will be:

• The development of a robust approach to collaborative and commercial opportunities.
• Promote simplified and compliant routes to market for identified commodity areas and services.
• Increase income generation opportunities via new and established CCBC collaborative arrangements.
• Identify opportunities to deliver significant savings on a local and national scale, while driving value for money at every point.           
• Develop market intelligence strategies and approaches, building a detailed understanding of commodities and fiscal cycles.
• Standardise the capability and skills needed across Caerphilly CBC and collaboratively.
• Generate positive communication channels with internal and external stakeholders that support the authorities’ objectives and initiatives.

For the role, we ask that you have:

• A relevant Level 5 qualification
• The ability to communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries
• Experience within a Procurement environment of a large organisation.
