Job Description

Assistant Support Services Manager

£25,500 per annum (rising to £26,500 after 1 year’s service)
37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent
Location: Torfaen

Cyfannol’s mission is to empower women and children to flourish in a life free from domestic abuse and sexual violence.

We offer a range of services throughout Gwent that encompass prevention, awareness-raising, safety, support and personal development opportunities for women and their children who have experienced violence against women, domestic abuse and/or sexual violence (VAWDASV).

About the role:

As an Assistant Support Services Manager, you would work collaboratively with the Support Services Manager to provide specialist support to empower women and children living within Torfaen Local Authority Area who are affected by Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and/or Sexual Violence (VAWDASV).

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience providing direct support to vulnerable people, you will have a good knowledge and understanding of VAWDASV and how this impacts women and children, and you will understand the importance of safeguarding and be able to pro-actively implement this. You will be confident in your ability to represent the organisation at external meetings and public events and be able to build strong relationships with external agencies. You will have a true passion for empowering women through their journey whilst raising awareness of this issue. You will also have some experience of supporting and managing staff. The successful applicant will be required to work some evenings and weekends and participate in our 3rd Tier out of hour’s on-call rota.

Cyfannol Women’s Aid is an independent local charity based in Pontypool, Newport and Abergavenny, which provides services and support throughout Gwent to people experiencing any form of Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse or Sexual Violence. 

The charity was formed in 2015, as the result of a merger between Torfaen Women’s Aid and Women’s Aid Monmouthshire; women-led charities with over 35 years experience in supporting women and their children. We now have established bases in Torfaen, Monmouthshire, Newport and Blaenau Gwent and provide outreach services across the wider Gwent area.
