Care Assistant – NIGHT DUTY (Full or Part-time)

Brightside Manor Care Home, a leader in dementia residential care in Cardiff has exciting job opportunities for dedicated experienced care staff. We currently have vacancies for Care assistants. It is preferable that candidates have QCF level 2 or equivalent qualification, a minimum of 1-year experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of dementia. We are looking for motivated, compassionate individuals that enjoy making a difference in the quality of life of our residents.

Care Assistant – NIGHT  DUTY (1-4 nights per week):

Required to work on night  duty 

Responsibilities include providing personal care to elderly residents in a dignified manner, recognising and responding to changes in health care needs, updating care records, and liaising with colleagues. Applicants should be skilled in a range of communication techniques, familiar with person-centered approaches, and dedicated to improving the lives of our residents with dementia. 

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-year relevant experience in the care of the elderly, ideally dementia care, or other related social care fields.  QCF Level 2 qualifications or equivalent is preferred but not essential as we will enroll the candidate to obtain the relevant qualification and on to the Social Care Induction Framework (SCIF).

Working Hours:

DAY DUTY POSITION - 36 hours per week (F/T) or Min 16 hours/week (P/T)

SHIFT PATTERN: 8PM-8AM

Overtime by arrangement to cover holidays and sickness. 

Occasional night duty for observation and staff training.

Candidates should be flexible and available to work weekends. Night shifts from 8:00 PM-8:00 AM. Day Shifts vary from 8am-8pm, 8am-2pm, 2pm-8pm. Occasional day shift by mutual agreement. Overtime by arrangement to cover holidays and sickness.

ASAP subject to Enhanced DBS check and references

Rate Of Pay:

Up to £103.61/Shift including enhancements for weekend working and performance incentives. 12-week probationary period applies.
