Brightside Manor Care Home, leader in dementia residential care in Cardiff has exciting job opportunities for a dedicated experienced activity co-ordinator. Vacancy has been created due to our recent expansion of our provision. It is essential that the candidate will have minimum QCF level 3 or equivalent qualificatin in allied field including occupational therapy, creative or music therapy, minimum 2 years’ experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of dementia. We are looking for motivated, compassionate individuals that enjoy making a difference to the quality of life of our residents.

Activity Coordinator (PART-TIME):

One part-time candidate required to plan and conduct daily activities to enhance the quality of life and well-being of elderly residents especially those with dementia.

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have experience and training in planning and delivering varied daily activities to the elderly in a residential care setting to stimulate their physical and mental well-being as well as possessing ability to organise and co-ordinate group events such as summer BBQ, open day etc. Musical ability will be an advantage but not essential.

Qualification

Must have attended a designated course to confirm the ability to provide meaningful activities for older people with dementia. Formal qualification would be beneficial but not essential. Training opportunities for further development will be encouraged.

Benefits:

Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team working alongside in-house dementia lead and under the supervision of the home’s registered manager. Auto-enrolment pension scheme and training opportunities

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week  between 1.00PM and 5:00PM. Required to work Saturdays in rotation and to cover outings or special events.

FULL-TIME SCOPE: If the candidate has caring experience, additional hours may be made available to work as carer to supplement the hours.

ASAP subject to Enhanced DBS check and references
