NYAS Cymru provides advocacy to children and their families to ensure their rights and entitlements are upheld and their views, wishes and feelings are heard within decision making processes.

The children and young people NYAS work with might be in care, have a disability or special needs, be subject to child protection plans, have mental health difficulties or their parents might be separating.

Service Manager role:

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our NYAS Cymru team. We are currently seeking to appoint a Service Manager who will support us to manage the Project Unity programme that we are currently successfully delivering across Wales.
  • The Service Manager will be working as part of a team across Wales, ensuring that they support and help break the cycle of children being born to care experienced young mothers entering the care system in Wales. You will be responsible for working alongside key partners, including Local Authorities, Health Boards and Third Sector organisations to promote the project and agree referral pathways.

You will be passionate about the rights of children and parents, have experience of working within a social care environment and believe in the power of advocacy.

Requirements include:

  • Substantial proven practice experience in delivering direct work to children, young people and vulnerable adults in a social care setting.
  • Considerable experience of the supervision of staff/volunteers.
  • A professional qualification in a relevant field.
  • An ability to communicate effectively and to a high standard both orally and in writing to a wide range of people.
