DESCRIPTION  
Our client, within the public sector is looking to recruit an experienced individual who will be the first point of contact for this very busy and highly pressuriesd organisation. You will need to demonstrate that you have worked in a customer service environment and be able to support various personnel. The role includes operating the busy switchboard, radio and fax equipment providing communication and administrative
support.

The hours of work are 37 per week working on a shift basis. 8.00 - 4.00pm / 12.00 - 8.00pm and working one in every three weekends.

Major Tasks:
1. Provide a switchboard and facsimile service.
2. Carry out police checks on PNC, LCS and CIS computer systems, and input and update on a dedicated system.
3. Monitor radio systems to receive messages and deploy staff to incidents as appropriate.
4. Provide clerical support in relation to the departments  records for daily duty books, key holder lists, returns to HQ etc.
5. Undertake front desk duties to include handling lost/found property, production of driving documents and offering general advice to the public.

Attainments:
1. Must be qualified to GCSE standard or equivalent, or have relevant work experience.
2. Must possess good keyboard inputting skills.
3. Should have experience of accessing information from databases.
4. Should have previous experience of dealing with the general public in a customer service or reception environment.

The position is until Sept 2009.
