Ty Llwynderw, situated in Maesteg, is a state of the art Extra Care and Residential Care facility due to open in the autumn of 2018.

Our extra care model allows frail older people to live independently in their own self-contained apartment, with access to a home care service permanently based on site. Each scheme will also contain a residential care unit operated by the local authority, to which we will provide catering services.

The scheme consist of apartments, hairdressing salon, communal space for social activities, spa room and restaurant facilities.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, positive, customer-focussed individuals willing to help us provide an excellent day to day catering services for our residents.

Duties will include, but not be limited, to:

  • Under the direction of the Chef Manager, assist in all areas of the kitchen as required, including helping to prepare and present meals to all residents on a daily basis.
  • To ensure that an exceptional level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the kitchen and dining room.
  • Work to Health and Safety and environmental health specifications, using consistently excellent standards.
  • Building positive relationships with residents and staff.

What skills do I need to have?

You will be required to have a real passion for food and people, and a desire to build a successful career for yourself within catering. You will need to have previous kitchen experience working in a fresh food environment, and are required to pass a DBS check for the position.

You will enjoy working in a team and have a positive, inclusive attitude towards colleagues and the residents. You will also take pride in cleanliness and helpfulness on shift, and understanding that Health and Safety and Food Safety are essential in the workplace.

  • The hours are great. There are no split shifts involved with this position, so there's a good work/life balance!
  • You will be working 18 hours per week, 4.5 days a week. This is a full/Part time, permanent position and will include working weekend days and bank holidays, including Christmas.
  • Linc offer a variety of continuous learning options to allow you to progress your career in catering. This position will require training up to level 2 in Food safety Management.
