Python Engineer Cardiff - Excellent Salary (up to 65k) and Bonus with WFH / flexi working options
We're helping to scale the Engineering team for an award-winning security company based in Cardiff with Python Engineers.

What you'll be doing:
You'll be part of a backend development team (5-10 people) who design, implement, test and deploy fast and scalable software written in Python to be run in a distributed environment following micro-service architecture.
This team focuses on the real-time data processing, analysis and incident processing for the clients software, working with challenges posed by processing millions of events per second from over 4,000 customers.

As you can imagine something like this pretty varied as you'll be participating in challenging development processes within a multinational team of professionals if you're looking for some general responsibilities though you'll be doing things like -
* Building cost-effective and performant solutions to run in AWS using modern tools
* Creating efficient and elegant solutions using bleeding-edge technologies
* Participating in software deployment leveraging fully automated CI / CD pipeline

About you
This team is working on some very interesting challenges and predominately focussed on Python, other things we're looking for include -
* Linux/Unix software development experience
* Prior experience with git version control system (or other similar systems like SVN, ClearCase, Teamforce, etc)
* Experience working in a DevOps methodology
* Design and development in micro-service architecture building independent software components
* Experience operating a live production environment leveraging fully automated CI/CD framework.
You'll also be involved with the following so it would be great if you've worked with any of it, or you're keen to learn!
* Developing scalable and cost-effective software solutions using AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, Kinesis, SQS, SNS)
* Building, configuring and deploying micro-services using Docker and Kubernetes or respective AWS equivalents (ECS and EKS)
* Developing software for networking communication protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, and HTTP
* Experience working with large distributed systems or big data processing
* Production experience with NoSQL database technology: DynamoDB, Riak, Cassandra, etc.
