Business and Operations Support Manager

Cardiff

£42,997 - £48,055

12 month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment

Ref: RCN01120

We are RCNi, part of the Royal College of Nursing group. This is a brilliant opportunity to join us at this exciting time. Our business has changed significantly and we have moved beyond publishing. We have brought all our products and services together to provide nursing professionals with easy access to our peer-reviewed content, news, opinion, jobs, events and awards.

We produce eleven online and print nursing publications, including Nursing Standard, the UK's best-selling nursing journal, and a range of specialist journals.

RCNi hosts the annual Nurse Awards, celebrating excellence in nursing, and the RCN Bulletin Jobs Fairs, the largest recruitment events for nurses in the UK.

We are committed to being an essential nursing resource, inspiring and informing the whole nursing team to deliver best practice and exceptional patient care. We are also committed to providing nursing staff with insight and practical information to support their career development.

The Business and Operations Support (BOS) manager role is a linchpin role for RCNi, tying together the work by editorial, product development, marketing, website, finance and sales teams from an operational and customer perspective. The postholder will need to learn a broad range of knowledge to support the BOS team, inform wider RCNi decisions and feed into RCN group CRM work.

You will lead a team of six staff providing subscription and product support to our personal and institutional subscribers, and operational support to the rest of RCNi. You will be line managing all six staff, and reporting to the London-based Sales Operations Manager.

We are looking for a calm and confident individual who is capable of learning a lot of information about the broad range of daily, weekly and monthly operational processes undertaken by the team, as well the workings of the CRM.

You should be experienced in team management and bringing the best out of people. Ideally you will have operations and/or customer services experience, and a good understanding of working with subscription models with a large CRM system.

Most of all we want someone with exceptional common sense, adaptability, proactivity, and solution-focus. A 'people person' who can nurture and guide the BOS team, while providing the vital connection to the rest of the organisation.

This post is based in the RCN membership services office in Cardiff Gate Business Park, Cardiff. We offer a range of employee benefits, including generous remuneration, a great pension scheme, agile working and excellent terms and conditions. Please visit our website for details of our comprehensive employee benefits.

Please see the role description and person specification for further details of these roles.

For further information or to set up an informal conversation about the role, please email jennifer.oldfield@rcni.com

A supporting statement must be presented using the Supporting Statement template which is provided.
