Senior Care Assistant – DAY DUTY (Full-time)

Brightside Manor Care Home, leader in dementia residential care in Cardiff has exciting job opportunities for dedicated experienced care staff. We currently have vacancies for Senior Care assistants as we are expanding our provision. It is essential that candidates have minimum QCF level 3 or equivalent qualification, minimum 3 years’ experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of dementia. We are looking for motivated, compassionate individuals that enjoy making a difference to the quality of life of our residents.

Opportunities for career progression within the company. We are looking for experienced senior care staff who can take charge of shifts in our state of the art Enhanced Care Unit under the direction of our Registered Manager.

Senior Care Assistant – DAY DUTY (Full-time):

Three senior candidates required to work on day and night duties.

Responsibilities include providing personal care to elderly residents in a dignified manner, recognising and responding to changes in health care needs, medication administration, updating care plans and records, liaising with other health care professionals. Applicants should be skilled in a range of communication techniques, familiar with person centred approaches and dedicated to improving the lives of our residents with dementia. 

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum requirement of 3 years relevant experience in ideally dementia care or other related social care field.  QCF Level 3 qualifications or equivalent is essential. Advanced accredited dementia training advantageous.

Working Hours:

DAY DUTY POISTION - 36 hours per week

8AM-2PM, 2PM-8PM or 8AM-8PM

Overtime by arrangement to cover holidays and sickness. 

Occasional night duty for observation and staff training.

Candidates should be flexible and available to work weekends. Shifts vary from 8am-8pm, 8am-2pm, 2pm-8pm and occassional night 8pm-8am by mutual agreement. Overtime by arrangement to cover holidays and sickness.

ASAP subject to Enhanced DBS check and references

Rate Of Pay:

Up to £9.55/hour including enhancements for weekend working and performance incentive. 12 week probationary period applies.
