Job title: Web Operations Manager / Technical Software Manager (Internal Start-Up)
Salary: £45,000 per annum (Plus annual bonus and excellent benefits including a 35-hour work week)
Location: Cardiff - Commutable from Newport, Caerphilly, Bridgend

Acorn is currently recruiting for a Web Operations Manager role based in luxurious offices in Cardiff City Centre. The client is a large financial services organisation that has embarked on a significant growth plan over the past three years in an aim to scale from 500 to 1000 staff - with a focus being on the technology front. This organisation is now using their financial backing, existing relationships and reputation to spin out an internal start-up with the aim of building a cutting-edge platform that offers a completely fresh approach to car buying and selling, providing the ultimate customer and dealer experience.

You will have the opportunity to help drive the technical direction of a unique proposition - a start up with security. This role is looking for someone who will drive the performance and delivery of this new platform and enhance the web applications and infrastructure behind it.

You will be working alongside their current development partners along with overseeing the hiring of internal developers to support the continuous release of platform services that are easy to deploy, operate, scale and are performant and secure. This role would suit someone from a technical background with an interest in modern tools and methodologies who wants to move into more of an operational role and help make a real impact.

Exposure to or an understanding of some of the following;

* Cloud Services - Ideally AWS however Azure is acceptable.

· CI / CD Pipelines
· Load Balancing - HAProxy, NGINX etc
· Caching - Redis
· CDNs - Cloudflare
· Web Servers
· SQL &/or NOSQL Databases
· Scripting for automation e.g. Powershell, Bash, UNIX, Python etc

* In regards to actual processes it would also be helpful for you to have a full understanding of the SDLC including release management and testing in an agile environment.
