THE HOTEL:

Beaufort Park Hotel is located a few miles from Chester. The hotel has 104 rooms together with a restaurant, bar, and extensive conference and events facilities. Acquired by the present owners in 2018, the hotel has ambitious plans to expand and enhance its facilities and build on its excellent reputation.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounts and Payroll Administrator role is a key position within the hotel's management team with responsibility for the day to day running of our Accounts Department, providing financial support and information to the Directors, Company Accountant and General Manager.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that all systems and procedures within the Accounts Department are adhered to and updated as required.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts:
* Monitor expenditure
* Produce weekly statistics and reports as required
* Input supplier invoices
* Carry out period and year end journals and reconciliations
* Oversee purchase and sales ledger
* Check commission invoices
* Input petty cash
* Balance and reconcile bank statements
* Liaise with the company accountants
* Monitor debtors and deposits
* Prepare supplier payments

Payroll:
* Monitor clocking on machine time sheets and adjustments
* Input hours worked on to external payroll bureau software.
* Maintain employee database with regard to new staff, leavers, records of holidays, sickness and other adjustments
* Deal with payroll queries

Other duties include:
* Maintaining and reviewing systems and procedures as necessary
* Administrative support in relation to the recruitment of staff and maintenance of personnel records
* Providing support to the Directors with regard to the research and development of new initiatives and special projects.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:
* Thejob holder reports to the General Manager on a day to day basis and the Directors on an adhoc basis.
* The job holder is supported by the Accounts and Payroll Assistant.

REMUNERATION:
* Salary will be with the range of £22,000 to £25,000 per year depending on experience.
* The above salary range is on the basis of a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) however, part-time would be considered (25 hours per week) with the salary range above paid pro rata.

PREREQUISITES:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounts professional. Previous experience in a similar role within the hotel or hospitality sector would be an advantage but not essential. The ability to use products such as Microsoft Excel and Sage at a proficient level is essential. Other important attributes are; well-developed interpersonal skills, commercial awareness and attention to detail.
