James Horne is recruiting for a Synthetic Chemist to join a leading Research and Development company that supports the Life Science industry. Based at their site in Cardiff, this role is on a full time and permanent basis.

Ranging from synthetic, medical and analytical chemistry, biology, chemical and pharmaceutical development plus many more operations, this company has an excellent track record and reputation for delivering R&D solutions to partners in Europe, North America and Asia.

Location:
This role is located in south Cardiff, just outside the city centre with excellent transport links.

The Role:
As part of the Carbon Synthesis group, you will be responsible for synthesis and purification of a range of organic compounds, producing quality materials that are used in studies that support the development of new products. You will be be familiar with, and use, a range of techniques including small scale synthesis, preparative HPLC, flash chromatography and a range of analytical techniques.
This a Monday - Friday role, working 37.5 hours per week.

Your Background:
Ideally you will hold the following qualifications and experience:
· A degree in chemistry and relevant practical experience.
· Experience and understanding of practical organic chemistry.
· Experience and knowledge of chromatographic techniques.
· A PhD in chemistry and experience of carbon synthesis is desirable but not essential.
