DT Civils is a privately owned ltd company with a multi-million pound turnover. Founded in 1993 DT Civils specialise in the installation of water, gas & electricity services. Based from their purpose built premises in Ebbw Vale they deliver a nationwide service providing a complete multi-utility solution.

Due to expansion within the business and awards of multiple new contracts, DT Civils are now recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis. The role at present will be to assist the current commercial team in the commercial management of various projects in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Procure and complete tender enquiries, including site visits where necessary.
• Pre-tender risk analysis, clarification and all other supporting documentation.
• Carry out all aspects of cost management for allocated contracts inc. Budgets, CVR's, Liabilities and accruals, WIP and forecasts.
• Complete internal and external valuations when necessary.
• Capture & agree value for all loss & expense claims, variations, EWN's/CE's and incorporate into AFP's to the client.
• Agree & pursue payment of interim applications and Final Accounts.
• Collection and recording of all necessary supporting information where required.
• Liaise with operations and other members of the team to ensure effective communications and a cohesive working environment
Technical experience, skills and attributes
• BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent commercially related subject
• Contractor background preferred but not necessary
• Experience with civil engineering / utilities desirable but not essential
• Knowledge and experience of construction methods, technology, standard forms of measurement and forms of contract (Predominantly NEC 3) also health and safety requirements
• Good computer literacy with experience MS office including Excel, Outlook and Word
• Ability to understand and follow laid down procedures
• Ability to work on site where necessary
• High standards of verbal and written communication
• Collaborative, and keen to share information, knowledge and skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Be able to identify the goals of any project and work steadily towards them
• Ability to adhere to a structured and methodical approach to any task, identifying priorities and setting deadlines.
