Depot Foreman - Generators

£32,000.00 - £34,000.00

We are actively seeking a Depot Foreman for our client a leading Generator Hire Company.

You are responsible for the safe running of the depot, managing the operations and ensuring the depot runs efficiently and economically subject to legislation, Company regulations and procedures. Key Responsibilities:

Main Activities:

To maintain the standard and quality of all the kit in the Depot, including all Generators, FLT's, HGV's, Vans, etc

Reporting any shortages or surplus stocks
Controlling the repair process
Reporting any non-conformity to management
Ensuring picking lists, checking in returns and Goods In /Out procedures are followed
Prioritising work to meet order requirements
Advising hire desks of issues affecting order deadlines
Assessing damages and advising hire desk appropriately
Ensuring Lorries are loaded/ unloaded safely
Completing maintenance record books for plant and tools, reporting any defects
Ensuring all stock of tools and consumables are adequate
Check that all plant and tools are secure at the end of the day
Ensure the working environment is kept safe, clean and that the facilities are looked after
Opening and closing of the depot, including being on callout for alarm system
Reporting accidents/ near misses

Budgets/ Information

To provide accurate and timely information as required by the Company
To manage all yard costs and expenditure, including Man Hours and Overtime.
In addition, ensure accurate recording of these

Monitoring and organising consumables, including completing monthly Wish List for stock replacement
Stock control and management, including organising periodic stock takes and inputting of new products and stock onto reports
Dealing with Customers

To proactively work jointly with all departments and colleagues across the range of functions to ensure we deliver the highest level of customer service on a consistent basis
Management of People/ Team

To manage your team through effective leadership, offering development support and direction in order to ensure targets/ KPIs are achieved.
Performance Management and development of your team in accordance with HR policies and procedures, including regular contact, one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, etc
Conducting Toolbox Talks and training sessions as appropriate
Oversee the selection, induction, performance appraisal and development of your team to ensure an overall increase in knowledge, experience, responsibility and individual accountability for work related actions
Maintaining good discipline and report any misconduct or capability issues
Reporting sickness and absence occurrences
Attending disciplinary/ capability/ grievance hearings (if necessary)
Supervise all yard/ workshop personnel, including the drivers, ensuring they work efficiently and safely
Ensure individuals are aware of objectives and their contribution to the team
