To support and develop the efficacy of continued operations function of the facility, identifying and introducing processes improvement opportunities and routine engineering changes into manufacturing on time, within budget, to agreed yields and efficiencies and to the company's quality standards.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Continuous plant improvement: In collaboration with other UK functions, assess process methods to minimise process time and scrap and maintain and improve the customer quality, output and equipment maintenance, and assist with implementation. This will include processes to measure, analyse and improve the efficiency and yield of current equipment using OEE methodologies, using data gathered to establish optimum capability of current machinery and to justify any capital expenditure required.

• Process Design: Design, develop and maintain automated processes working within project time and cost targets agreed for new product development.

• Process Technology: Evaluate new concepts in relation to processes and manufacturing to fit in with Fundamental Technology Teams (FTT) and Manufacturing Technology Development Projects (MTDP), developing own expertise in designated area(s), and sharing this expertise with others in the business as required

• Validation: Perform necessary GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), process validations and other quality system documentation requirements to support new product introduction and development.

• Documentation: Prepare manufacturing documentation for above thus ensuring smooth transition into manufacturing. Maintain a record of all documentation, including drawings, sketches, calculations, records etc. ensuring a full history of process and product evolution is documented.

• Compliance: Work in accordance with Company Quality Standards, procedures and processes and comply with the requirements of Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Adhere to the standards of behaviours, policies and procedures as laid out in the employee handbook

Education/Qualifications

HNC or Degree in engineering, Mechatronics or related field.

Key behaviours/Skills/Experience

• Software based PLC and HMI Design and commissioning using Siemens TIA.

• Software based PLC design and commissioning using Mitsubishi PLC.

• Experience of manufacturing automation, machine design and development.

• Able to create clear and accurate electrical drawings.

• Able to create clear and accurate BOM for control hardware.

• Able to design and build electrical control panels.

• Produce clear functional descriptions from the customer specification.

• Good working knowledge of hardware/software interfacing for field bus.

• Verify and validate machine to required control specifications.

Desirable behaviours/Skills/Experience

• Staubili robotics experience - Val3

• Wonderware System platform 2014 Intouch MES

• Experience of using process control tools and improvement techniques.

• The ability to write PLC programs using structured text.

• Solid works Electrical.

• 17th edition electrical regulations
