Summary

The Finance Shared Service Centre at Ashton Medical Centre supports multiple Healthcare organisations (both private and public sector), led by the Chief Finance Officer who is looking for a hands-on, confident and dynamic individual to join our expanding team of Finance Officers.

The role will cover a variety of finance tasks on behalf of SSP Health including sales and purchase ledger and daily bank and cash postings within the finance system.

SSP Health manages 36 GP practices around the North West and our practices have recorded some of the highest patient satisfaction levels. We have locations in Manchester, Salford, Wigan, St. Helens and Widnes

The Role

The role will be varied and will involve exposure to a combination of duties including; responsibility of the endto-end processes within purchase ledger and sales ledger, adherence to month end procedures and providing support with the PO system and ordering process. Alongside this, you'll have daily liaison with the SSP practices providing advice and support to all.

Key duties include:

* Processing a high volume of purchase ledger invoices

* Appropriately code all expenditure within Company's accounting package

* Ensure suppliers and clinicians are paid in a timely and accurate manner, matching all supplier invoices to purchase orders where appropriate

* Supplier statement reconciliations

* Preparation of bulk supplier payment runs and individual payments to clinical staff

* Posting of daily bank and cash transactions within SAGE

* Provide support to sites in relation to the PO system and ordering process

* Transactional processing of sales ledger activities and supporting with collection of outstanding monies from public organisations

* Understand financial implications for organisation and report any anomalies/concerns to the Senior Finance Officer

* Ensure adequate systems, processes and protocols are in place and are adhered to across the business

* Any other duties deemed to be necessary for the needs of the business

Essential Criteria

* At least 2 years proven experience within a similar role

* Computer literate with good working knowledge of all MS Office programmes and intermediate excel

* Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)

* Ability to follow procedure and a team player

* Proactive approach to problem solving

* Confidentially deal with complex matters Desirable Criteria

* AAT or equivalent

* Knowledge of SAGE

* Experience of dealing with large suppliers

* NHS income experience

To succeed in this role, you will have experience of providing financial support to (and communication with) a variety of levels of management and teams. Alongside this, you will demonstrate the ability to quickly build and maintain working relationships with a wide range of people operating with organisational sensitivity. You must have a proactive approach and a strong attention to detail at all times.
