One of the leading educational establishments in North Wales, has an opportunity for a Bilingual Learning Support Assistant to join its friendly team based near Pwhelli on the Llyn Peninsula on a part-time temporary basis until the end of October 2019.

You will be supporting learners in Welsh and English to enable them to make the most of their potential and any learning opportunities offered to them. Working closely with a range of tutors you will provide assistance and support to teaching staff in the academic, social and pastoral care of learners.

As a Bilingual Learning Support Assistant your main responsibilities will be:

Facilitating and promoting student integration/inclusion within the peer group, both socially and with regard to subject learning.
Assisting in maintaining good discipline and fostering good working relationships with subject tutors.
Providing assistance to the subject tutor in the organisation, development and preparation of learning materials, student tasks, assignments and assistance in the assessments and the recording of learners' progress
Supporting learners during learning activities and explain/reinforce tutor instructions
Providing constructive feedback to learners in relation to targets and attending relevant meetings with subject tutors and support teams.
Providing mobility assistance to student(s) around the College campus as well as on educational visits, helping student(s) to use lifts, ramps etc. when and where necessary.
Accompanying student(s) as required during non-timetabled session.
Assisting with learner welfare needs, where required
Helping student(s) to use specialist equipment and to/from their transport and accompany into classes, where required.
We are really keen to see your CV if you have the following skills and experience:

Previous experience in a similar role, with the ability to show empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by young people post 16.
At least 2 qualifications to include Literacy and Numeracy.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate effectively. in both English and Welsh, orally and in writing and the ability to work with a diverse range of learners and staff.
Good IT skills.
A current enhanced DBS certificate.
In exchange you will receive a pay rate of £9.14 per hour plus holiday pay. This is a part- role 30 hours per week working Monday to Frida.
