Our client, a well-established leader within their sector are looking to recruit an experienced Fire Safety Engineer to provide comprehensive support to the Fire Risk Management team in the delivery of client facing Fire Safety advice.

Working with a range of clients, the right candidate will consult on a full range of fire engineering issues and ensure a comprehensive service is delivered. Based in Cardiff (with some UK travel), the role will form part of a small, professional team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide fire risk management support to clients across the UK

Maintain an expert knowledge of fire safety and fire risk management

Remain abreast of legislative requirements and best practice

Support the Fire Engineering and Certification teams

Deal with internal and external enquiries by telephone, email

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Fire Risk Management suite of products

Effectively plan and deliver fire safety activities in accordance to client expectations, travelling to sites throughout the UK when required

Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and contribute to the development of feasibility plans and implementation

Attend meetings relating to the delivery of the Fire Risk Management service

Use physical and financial resources effectively in accordance with budgetary expectations

Contribute to the monitoring of quality assurance system compliance

Experience, Skills & Attributes:

Excellent communication, people management and report writing skills

Ability to talk to people and manage numerous challenges in a busy environment

Excellent knowledge of, and extensive experience delivering fire risk management, and in particular fire risk assessments across various industries (retail, healthcare, office, banking, military, government etc.)

A good understanding of regulatory enforcement, and ideally experience liaising and negotiating with enforcement authorities

Completion of the CFPA Fire Prevention Diploma, the Certificate in Fire Safety (Fire Auditors), or the Diploma in Fire Safety (Fire Inspectors) would be a strong advantage

Registration on an industry recognised third party accreditation scheme for fire risk assessors is expected, or a clear path towards registration and evidence of progression

Technical competency and qualification relating to the design or installation of fire protection systems

Experience delivering surveys of compartmentation, or qualifications relating to fire engineering
