Independent Project Social Worker - Childrens Services

We are looking to recruit 2 experienced locum children (0-18) social workers to work on a fixed term project until January 2020. The project is suited to experienced social workers who thrive on working at pace, the cut and thrust of sharp end social work and outside of normal team's activities.

Requirements

The Social Workers will need to be able to work independently and, at times, decisively. It is essential that the social worker is able to assimilate and assess complex information quickly, or work with very limited information. The project team take referrals from intake and assessment and work on back log clearance working through 'out of timescale' court processes, in both private and public law case. The social worker will at times be starting from the back foot. The social worker will be case managing a varied and diverse case load, with a full case load allocation, many of which will already be in proceedings. It is anticipated that once the project commences at full scale that the project will move towards full private law. It is essential that Social Workers are able to work independently & with light touch management. Social Workers will have an assigned base but will have full agile working without a requirement to be office based. Social Workers will have full administrative support and easy access to the Team Manager as a sounding board, support and supervision as required. This is an exciting opportunity for Social Workers who are experienced in, and enjoy, court work.

The key attributes we are looking for are:-

* Significant experience in Childrens services
* Experienced in court work & in depth assessments
* Decisive and confident in your practice
* Able to work independently

For this role you will need to be registered with the HCPC / Social Care Wales and hold a DBS on the update service or be prepared to undertake a new DBS at your expense.
