Salary description:
Start Date:
The Graphics Department is a division of PC1 Ltd
Job Ref:

The Graphics Department, a well-established web design, IT and marketing agency, has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Web Developer to join the team based in Swansea.

Running for over 20 years, we're a small but strong team looking to grow. As well as several of our own brands that we are building internally, we have a large and varied client base for which we have provided Web solutions for. These websites range from simple WordPress platforms, right through to international e-commerce sites with complex databases, built from mobile-up.

About the role:

We're looking for a recent graduate with a degree in Web Development or similar to join our creative team. You will be taking initial designs from our designer and turning them into responsive, fast and efficient websites with a strong UX.

You will be given guidance and training where required by our Senior IT and Web Developer and will work alongside the design and marketing team. Although a standalone role, there will be lots of input and collaborative work from the whole team.

One of the major projects that you will be working on early-on will be our own website which is currently under construction with a re-design, so you will be able to make your mark straight away. You will have the opportunity to mould yourself into the developer you aspire to be through problem-solving and utilising your initiative.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and maintaining bespoke websites
* Assisting with the design and branding of websites from mobile-up
* Liaising with clients, and maintaining and building client relationships
* Due to the nature of agency work, you will be required to switch jobs and projects at the drop of a hat

Required skills:
* A degree or proficient experience in a relevant topic
* Solid understanding and practice in Web Development
* WordPress
* JavaScript
* HTML, CSS, jQuery
* Ability to design and edit graphics (Adobe Creative Suite preferred)
* Enthusiasm and genuine interest in keeping up to date with the latest technological trends
* Able to work under pressure, sometimes in a very fast-paced environment
* Able to keep up with multiple projects ongoing at any one time

* An interest in mobile applications
* Experience/interest in developing a CMS

* A competitive salary
* A permanent and secure role
* 20 days paid holiday (plus bank holidays)
* Potential for flexible working (situational)
* Experience in a huge range of brands from a vast range of industries

NOTE: Some of our bigger clients come from the motorcycle and motocross industry, so if you have an interest in cars, bikes or mechanics in general, you could be the perfect fit. Of course, our other clients come from backgrounds such as fitness, holiday tours, and even Alpaca farms, so being able to adapt and learn about different industries will mean you will gain quite the bank of random knowledge. This role could make you the new best pub quiz member!

Should you be the person that we need, this is your opportunity to sharpen your coding skills and work closely with a range of clients.
