Heart of Wales Property Services Ltd is a joint venture company formed in 2017 by Powys County Council and Kier to provide consultancy and maintenance services to the Council's housing and property portfolio. Additionally, the company has tangible growth plans to deliver property services and construction projects to clients in the immediate, adjacent and wider geographical locations.

Electrician

Two exciting opportunities have just arisen to join our compliance and housing maintenance teams in the role of an Electrician.

One is a vital role within our compliance team, which will report to the Compliance Coordinator, the principle duties will be periodic electrical testing in council houses and corporate properties.

The second role is to join the repairs and maintenance team in the North of Powys working on corporate buildings and houses. This role will be based in Newtown.

To be considered for these roles, you should be able to offer outstanding service and support to our customers, client, tenants and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

* To organise in an efficient and safe manner, work derived from jobs assigned by supervisory staff

* Provide out of hours emergency service for all public buildings within the ownership of Powys County Council. Building Maintenance Services provide 24hr support 365 days a year, including all public holidays

* To follow health & safety advise and instructions

* To abide by the principles and practice of equality of opportunity as laid down in the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy

What are we looking for?

* Experience of working in a building maintenance environment

* CSCS Health & Safety Scheme

* 17th Edition IEE

* CITB Health & Safety

* Full Driving Licence

* Ability to deal in an understanding way with members of the public, and other staff members

* Ability to work alone, or as part of a team

* A willingness to respond to urgent and emergency situations, as they occur
