The Company

You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, national rail and civil engineering contractor with a company turnover approaching circa £300m (Group T/O £500m+). As a specialist civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business recognised on contracts and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious and forward-thinking business.

They have an amass of capability and deliver under pressure and to high quality time after time which has led to them being so successful and winning new business every year seeing significant growth also, the types of work you can expect to get involved in are fast-paced and can be reactive so requires a Project Manager who can stay calm under pressure and manage people well as works in asset management are described as high in volume and low in value so will be a real challenge due to its naturally fast paced environment. The Role

As Project Manager you will have single point responsibility and accountability for the successful execution of multiple projects in terms of quality of work, maintenance of schedule, budget and profit margins, and client satisfaction from commencement to close-out. To give you an idea of what you could be expecting to day-to-day it could look like the below:

Monitor and control of project performance against budget, schedule, quality and safety requirements using appropriate control tools and reporting to both the senior management team and the client
Identify changes in the scope of work and ensure that changes are current and adequate as well as being communicated well to all stakeholders involved
Prepare early warning and change instruction documentation
Plan and arrange visits to existing and new potential clients, ensuring every client receives sufficient support to enhance their relationships
Co-ordinate required support levels and training whilst reporting project process

Working Hours

This business works a 39-hour week which is a benefit as I know in the Rail business some people feel as if they are working night and day 24/7!

The Remuneration

Basic salary of between £58,000 and £64,000 per annum
Company Car or Car Allowance (Circa £5,500)
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays with the option to buy 5 more days
