Are you a Systems Administrator/Engineer looking to progress into a DevOps Engineer? Or a DevOps engineer looking for a new challenge?

Would you like to join a business where you are encouraged to suggest improvements and importantly see those improvements implemented?

If the answer to the above questions are yes, read on, as this could be the opportunity for you…

My client based in the centre of Cardiff have a fantastic opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join their thriving business. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing and keeping track all of the infrastructure for their systems running. This will include but not be limited to:
* Keeping the live systems running for their customers. You will respond to system alerts, triage the problem and apply an immediate fix, making sure you keep the relevant data and evidence to investigate the root cause of the failure once the system is restored.
* Constantly identify and make improvements to the live and development infrastructure to ensure the service quality and availability meets and exceeds the targets and client expectations.
* Review the cloud infrastructure in the design and implementation plans with the other team members. This means you will need to continue to learn and grow your cloud skills.
* Work with the teams to implement and improve the continual delivery pipelines.

My client is looking for applicants who ultimately have a strong background in Systems Administration, working with open source technologies, an understanding (and ideally some commercial experience) of cloud based technologies and some DevOps tools.

If you are able to demonstrate experience with most of the following, then you could be a great match for this opportunity -
* Linux and network system administration, ideally for CentOS
* Database administration for MySQL and Mongo
* Basic understanding of AWS services and networking, Docker and Kubernetes are beneficial.
* Managing and supporting live systems
* Experience of working in Agile or Lean teams
* Knowledge of Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker Registry
* Application security

If you don't have all of these skills yet, this will give you an idea of what technologies you will be working (to start) with if you are interested and successful in securing this opportunity.

Along with working for a tech focused company with a great culture, you will get 25 days annual leave and up to a 10% bonus, amongst other benefits.

If the above sound like you and you're looking to join a business where you will be pushed technically, in a challenging, yet rewarding environment this could be the one for you.

To find out more, please send in an updated CV or call Rhys Lewis, for a confidential discussion regarding this opportunity.
