Job Description:
The company are a leading food manufacturer at the forefront of innovation. Having invested heavily in new technology and automated systems they are looking for an ambitious Chief Engineer to mentor, coach and lead a team of engineers in order to support their site in Abergavenny through a period of ongoing change.

In the role of Chief Engineer you will be instrumental in the company's success. You will with an opportunity to help shape the future of the business and you'll do it in a secure, supportive and progressive working environment, where your contribution and achievements will be recognised and rewarded.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the successful candidate will lead the engineering operation, developing the engineering team to deliver optimum performance of the plant and equipment. Working closely with the Site Manager, you will generate a portfolio of strategic projects across the site, delivering projects from idea generation through the full project lifecycle to successful closure.

Main Responsibilities:
* Working closely with the Head of Engineering to develop and implement an engineering strategy for the entire site
* Defining engineering budgets and managing spend against engineering budgets
* Working with the Engineering Manager to develop the site's Preventative Maintenance Plan and ensuring effective delivery
* Delivering engineering projects to the specified KPIs, SLAs and budgets
* Leading the plan/delivery of ISO50001 projects to meet company commitments
* Promoting good engineering practices and a culture of Continuous Improvement

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:
* Good leadership qualities with the ability to motivate others and make effective timely decisions
* Experience gained in the management and leadership of maintenance staff
* Proven experience of managing change
* Understanding, knowledge and experience of managing CAPEX projects
* A degree gained in a n Engineering discipline would be extremely advantageous
