Overview

Support the day to day activities within the Quality Department and shop floor

Supervision of Quality Line Controller and Auditors,

Support production with any quality related issues, raising quality documentation

Liaise with customers and suppliers as required

Reduction of PPM rating

Strive for customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

1. Ensure Quality Procedures are applied / maintained and in the event of non-compliance to immediately inform the relevant managers.

2. Respond to any customer concern immediately, issuing an 8D report within 24 hours maximum.

3. Ensure all 8D reports to which you have been allocated customer responsibility are comprehensive and are closed in a timely manner.

4. Compile PPAP, APQP documentation for any project for which you have been allocated responsibility.

5. Support FMEA activity, working as a team member.

6. Ensure debit notes raised by a customer to whom you have been allocated responsibility are promptly responded to, identifying associated RMA numbers and liability. Provide completed debit notes to the Quality Manager.

7. Promptly support quality related production concerns.

8. Support Project/product introduction for any project you have been allocated responsibly.

9. Reduce customer and internal PPM rating (work for zero defects).

10. Support introduction of good working practice via the CI facilities such as 5S, SMED, and Lean Manufacturing.

11. Carry out internal Quality Systems / product / process audits as and when required.

12. Make customer/supplier visits as and when required, this may necessitate staying on location for days

13. Provide visit reports for all external business activity.

14. Ensure the correct level of visual standards (samples) are available at the point of manufacture for the customer product range for which you have been allocated responsibility.

15. Ensure all customer returns from customers for which you have been allocated responsibility are promptly analysed upon receipt, detailed reports raised and corrective actions applied.

16. Close any Internal Corrective Action (ICAR) raised again you or your allocated area of responsibility.

17. Support any SPC activity, providing guidance and carrying out studies as requested.

18. Support any Trial Production Runs (TPRs) requested of you.

19. Decide on disposition of quarantined stock associated with customers for whom you have been allocated responsibility.

Knowledge

Automotive knowledge would be beneficial

Use of SAP and customer Portals

FMEA

SPC

Problem solving techniques, 8D, 5 why's, Ishikawa

5S

SAP Knowledge would be beneficial

Quality Systems include ISO9001 / QS9000 / TS16949 / VDA standards and applicable regulatory requirements

CMM programming beneficial

Six Sigma green belt

DOE

Would suit a Quality Engineer/Quality Manager/Quality Inspector/Quality Auditor
