Electrical and Instrumentation Technician (Engineer)

Monday - Friday (8am - 4pm)

Circa £40,000 - £43,000 + Excellent Benefits, Including:

The Company

Due to internal progression, McIver Knight partnered with a highly successful manufacturer who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to minimise plant downtime, assist in all planned maintenance and continuous improvement related tasks.

You will be taking responsibility for the electrical health of one of the specially built machines on site and as one of the day engineers in the support team, you will be accountable for maintaining the machine from an E&I perspective, based on preventative and predictive maintenance concepts.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting technical problems and solving them through a root cause analysis approach and ensuring safety on site at all times. Aiming continuously for a zero breakdown production environment, you will also support and coach colleagues in handling technical issues. You will work to key performance indicators such as breakdowns; work to all company standards including for safety and quality; and be a key team member in identifying and implementing continuous improvements.

The Main Tasks

* You will have strong troubleshooting skills for technical issues with the ability to problem solve using root cause analysis.

* You will support and coach your operational colleagues in resolving the technical issues on the machine.

* You will also take ownership for your work on our paper machines.

* You will work to key performance indicators such as breakdowns;

* Work to all company standards including for safety and quality;

* Be a key team member in identifying and implementing continuous improvements.

The candidate:

* Electrical Engineering NVQ L3, HNC or equivalent

* Proven experience in a similar electrical function and industrial environment

* Experience of PLC systems and panel wiring

* Experience of overseeing contractors

* knowledge of budget management

* Knowledge of process instrumentation and actuators

* Knowledge of electrical code

* Strong communication skills

* Strong PC skills (excel, word

Desirable:

* Experience of Siemens Step 7

* High Voltage experience

* Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic component
