Acorn is currently recruiting a Trainer to join an internationally recognised refinery in Swansea.

The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver all training, competency and compliance activities at the refinery, and will report directly to the Superintendent L&D. This is an opportunity to work within an environment called the "Nobel Prize of Manufacturing" by the North-American magazine Business Week.

Interested applicants will have a Certificate in Training Practice (CITP) or a Learning and Development level 4 qualification, and experience delivering training in heavy industry or manufacturing environment.

A IOSH Managing Safely qualification is also desirable for this role, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

The role
* Support the implementation of learning and development systems and processes for the
Refinery.
* Ensure compliance with all legislated standards, company policies & procedures.
* Liaise with the HR department to validate the training budget and schedule internal and external training courses.
* Provide onsite training instruction in several disciplines.
* Execute training strategies for specific courses and maintain training curriculums and schedules.
* Provide internal quality assurance (IQA) for frontline supervisors within the Refinery.

Responsibilities
* Promoting and monitoring compliance with the North Atlantic L&D service delivery model.
* Maintaining policies, procedures and standards in line with government regulated training.
* Create reports to track delivery of agreed KPIs.
* Complete training needs analysis for the client in relation to business objectives and challenge line management constructively to ensure training plans are supported.
* Attend regular meetings with line management to offer training advice and discuss improvements
* Coordinate with external vendors to ensure cost effective training is implemented at
CNR including measurement of return on investment (ROI).
* Deliver bespoke training for local requirements, liaising closely with the North Atlantic L&D Team.
* Maintain training & attendance records to assess where mandatory courses are
required or refreshers are necessary,
* Coordinate attendance for line management training.
* Coordinate induction programs for all new employees, providing induction schedules and
providing training & final sign off.
* Coordinate and schedule refinery training days to meet attendees needs.
* Liaise with North Atlantic L&D team to continually review and improve systems and procedures.
